This is what Donald Trump tweeted about Martin Luther King on the anniversary of his death

It is the half centennial of the anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King.

Civil rights activist, Nobel Peace Laureate and pastor, King was instrumental in helping African Americans gain equal rights in the UK.

On the 4 April 1968, King was assassinated, but his legacy as an American hero lives on.

President Donald Trump has been his usual active self on Twitter today.

He tweeted about China, insistent that America is “not in a trade war" with the economic giant.

The President of the United States also tweeted about Mexico, calling the "Border Laws... very weak”.

And, urm, this gem...

And then, at least four hours after first signing on to Twitter for the day, he finally wrote:

So heartfelt.
