George Osborne just made gin and tonics more expensive and now people really hate him

While Wednesday's Budget has been criticised in some quarters for increased spending cuts and George Osborne's admission that debt will be higher than expected, there was one announcement that had some Britons seriously considering a revolution: tonic water.

The Chancellor has announced a new "sugar tax" that will see a levy placed on producers of soft drinks - although that is almost certainly likely to be passed onto the consumer.

Positively outraged, in fact

As if the budget could get any worse

The middle classes are starting to revolt

Flocking to the airports

There's the smell of revolution in the air

However, they all seem to be missing the point... thankfully, there is a clear solution to this problem
