With opinion polls too close to call ahead of Wednesday's election, Israel's incumbent prime minister may have just found his most formidable ally.
If anyone can persuade the people of Israel to vote for Benjamin Netanyahu, surely Chuck Norris can.
In a video posted to his official YouTube channel, the 75-year-old actor who enjoys cult status online said he took inspiration from Netanyahu's speech to Congress last month and his experience of filming Delta Force in Israel.
Right.
My name is Chuck Norris and I would like to say hello to all my friends in Israel. I watched Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech before Congress and saw a man who loves his country with all his heart and soul. I also saw a strong leader which is absolutely crucial for the safety of the Israeli people.
I have done three movies in Israel, Delta Force being my favourite, and I formed many friendships while I was there. You have an incredible country and we want to keep it that way.
That's why it's so important to have a leader who has the courage and vision to stand up against the evil forces that are threatening not only Israel but the United States. So I ask you to vote for Prime Minister Netanyahu on election day.
Thank you for listening to me.
I another video posed to his Facebook page, Norris then decried six years of weak leadership from Barack Obama and once again urged the people of Israel to "vote for Bibi".
