Hollywood director Rob Reiner’s poignant comments on Charlie Kirk’s murder have resurfaced following the news of his death.

Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday (14 December) after their bodies were discovered by a family member.

News of the pair’s passing was confirmed by a spokesperson who told the Associated Press: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”

A homicide investigation is now underway as tributes come pouring in for Michele and her husband, Rob Reiner, who was best known for directing movies such as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally and A Few Good Men.

Appearing on Piers Morgan’s TV show, Reiner was asked what his immediate reaction was when he heard the news about Kirk.

Reiner responded: “Well, horror. Absolute horror. And I, unfortunately, saw the video of it and it’s beyond belief, what happened to him and that should never happen to anybody. I don’t care what your political beliefs are, that’s not acceptable, that’s not a solution to solving problems.

“And I felt like what his wife said at the memorial service they had was exactly right … I believe in the teachings of Jesus and I believe in doing unto others and I believe in forgiveness and what she said to me was beautiful … She forgave his assassin and I think that is admirable.”

Rest in peace, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
