Science says star signs really do influence personality

Don't mock your horoscope just yet.

There’s still no firm proof that your future is written in the stars but a new study has found that people’s personalities really do vary depending on the season in which they are born.

People born in January and February tend to be more creative than others and are more likely to develop schizophrenia, although that remains largely genetic.

And people born in odd-numbered months tend to be more extroverted than those who aren’t.

Social sciences researcher Mark Hamilton also used a dataset of 300 celebrities and found that their birthdates tended to be around December through March.

Astrological signs may have developed to remember these patterns, according to research from the University of Connecticut.

"Psychologists want to dismiss these astrological correlations, but there are seasonality effects that we have yet to explain," he said.
