When seagulls terrorised a library, they turned to the only owl they could trust

A university has awarded a library card to an owl which is used to deter seagulls from nesting on the campus.

Yoda, an eagle owl, is brought by his handler to Bath University twice a week.

During his visits, Yoda's presence has the effect of unsettling the gull population and dissuading them from hanging around on campus and from nesting further in the area.

The university produced the card for the seven-year-old bird in recognition of the “valuable service” he provides.
