Images of the ‘perfect body’ – streamlined abs and clear skin plastered on a gym backdrop - seem to be going out of fashion.

In its place, more and more Instagram users, especially those with significant follower numbers, are using their platform to advocate realistic body standards.

Fitness instructor Anna Victoria, is one such person.

With 1.2 million followers on her Instagram account, her posts feature images of her, images of her clients, as well has clips of her workout routines.

On Monday, Victoria uploaded the following image of her posing in a bikini:

One day later, she posted another image beside it.

"Me 1 per cent of the time vs. 99 per cent of the time".

Victoria said that she loved both photos equally.

Our belly rolls, cellulite, stretch marks are nothing to apologise for, to be ashamed of, or to be obsessed with getting rid of! As I'm getting older, I have cellulite and stretch marks that aren't going away, and I welcome them. They represent a life fully lived (for 28 years so far :)) and a healthy life and body at that.

Her followers agreed with the sentiment, and the post received almost 300,000 likes in just 24 hours.
