A quick question for you to ponder over Christmas; 'is it impossible to not love Tom Hanks?'

Not only does he always play nice guys in movies but that quality also resonates in him as a person as evidenced by a recent surprise trip he and his wife, Rita Wilson, made to a fast food restaurant in California.

The 62-year-old actor stopped by a branch of In-N-Out in Fontana to enjoy some food but also pose for selfies with fellow customers and staff and wish everyone 'Merry Christmas.'

On top of that, he also brought everyone's lunch. What. A. Guy.

Photos of Hanks and Wilson at the venue have been shared on social media from people who were in the establishment at the same time as them.

If you've followed Hanks adventures off of the small screen for the past few years, you'll be aware that he isn't a stranger to hanging out with fans and having photos taken with them.

In 2016, he managed to gatecrash a couple's wedding and visit an artist who had made several paintings in his honour.

Although he didn't star in any movies released in 2018, Hanks is sure to have a busy 2019 as he reprises the role of Woody in Toy Story 4 and as Fred Rogers in the upcoming biopic of the famed American children's TV personality.
