There’s an image of Vladimir Putin depicted as a “gay” clown being shared and predictably the Russian government aren't happy about it.

The picture, which has been used at Pride parades around the world for years, was reccently added to the Russian government’s list of things that constitute “extremism”.

No, really.

Item 4071 on Russia’s index of extremist materials is a picture of a Putin-like person “with eyes and lips made up,” captioned with an implicit anti-gay slur, implying “the supposed nonstandard sexual orientation of the president of the Russian Federation".

A Kremlin spokesman told Russia's state-run news service, Tass, that he hadn't seen the Putin/clown picture, but he was sure it didn't bother Putin.

Just for perspective, think of all the cartoons of other politicians that we’re allowed to share until our heart’s content.

Like these ones of David Cameron:

And these ones of Theresa May and Nicola Sturgeon:

And these genius ones of Trump:

So, please don't share this image.
