Support pours in for Jessie J after devastating miscarriage news

Singer Jessie J has received an outpouring of support after suffering a miscarriage.

The 33-year-old yesterday shared the devastating news with her 10.5 million Instagram followers.

Jessie J, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, said that despite her loss she planned to go ahead with her performance in Los Angeles.

The Price Tag singer posted a picture with her positive pregnancy test and tagged her location as “Heartbroken”.

In the caption, she wrote that just the day before, she had been laughing about how she would struggle to get through her LA gig without sharing the exciting news of her pregnancy with her fans.

Sadly, she then received the news that her baby no longer had a heartbeat at her third scan.

She said she feels that she has “no control” of her emotions, and said she wanted to go ahead with the performance because she knows singing will help her.

She wrote: “I have done 2 shows in 2 years and my soul needs it. Even more today. I know some people will be thinking she should just cancel it. But in this moment I have clarity on one thing. I started singing when I was young for joy, to fill my soul and self love therapy, that hasn’t ever changed and I have to process this my way.

“I want to be honest and true and not hide what I’m feeling. I deserve that. I want to be as myself as I can be in this moment. Not just for the audience but for myself and my little baby that did its best.

“I know myself and I know I would talk about it on stage because that’s who I am. So instead of a tearful emotional speech trying to explain my energy. This feels safer.”

The singer then went on to explain that she had decided to have a baby on her own, “because that’s all I’ve ever wanted and life is short.”

She continued: “To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again.

“I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok.

“I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t.

“It’s the loneliest feeling in the world.

“So I will see you tonight LA. I may crack less jokes but my heart will be in the room.”

Messages of support flooded the comment section as countless people shared their condolences with the singer.

Singer Pixie Lott wrote: “I’m so sorry Jessie sending loads of love” along with heart emojis.

“My heart is with you,” singer Jade Novah said. “I’m so sorry Jessie.”

Presenter Laura Whitmore said: “Oh babe, I’m sorry. Sending love.”

“Thinking of you”, President of 4th Floor Creative Cassandra Gracey said.
