Bernie Sanders sits down with Cardi B in new campaign video

Bernie Sanders andCardi B have sat down for an extended chat in a new campaign video.

The conversation, filmed at a Detroit nail salon, sees the Bronx rapper quiz the White House hopeful on a number of key issues.

In a tweet, Sanders succinctly explained, Cardi B's nails are juuuust a little different than mine. Our views on the issues are pretty similar.

In the video, the rapper makes clear that she wants her fans to understand the issues:

We have this bully as a president and the only way to take him out is somebody winning. I want to tell my millions of followers: We’re here to educate you guys.

She goes on to say:

I don’t want people thinking that we’re trying to attack the police. Because let me tell you something, there was this one time that I started to feel like I hate the police, they’re pigs. But there’s a lot of cops that go in their jobs and they want to protect their people. We need police departments that look like the communities that they serve — we get rid of a lot of this militarization of the police department, which is a form of intimidating people.

Topics covered include Medicare for All, tuition-free college and combatting student debt. The video is well worth watching in its entirety.

The internet was divided, as it tends to be over most things.

Others were more positive.

But the best comment of all was almost certainly this one.
