Boris Johnson might abandon the General Election if 16 year-olds are allowed to vote and people aren't impressed

Boris Johnson is on the cusp of securing the election he’s been banging on about for weeks.

Remember when he called Jeremy Corbyn a “big girl’s blouse” for not calling a general election a little while ago?

Well, it seems that Boris has turned into a bit of a scaredy cat himself, because he’s now threatening to pull the General Election if his demands aren’t met.

After amendments were allowed to the election bill, Downing Street has said that it will not proceed with the vote if the bill is amended to extend votes to EU citizens living in the UK and 16 year-olds.

Naturally, given this apparent temper tantrum at the prospect of more people being allowed to vote, the internet has reacted strongly.

It's fair to say people aren't impressed.
