Man goes viral after accidentally buying his girlfriend lettuce instead of flowers

We've all tried to impressive a partner or friend. Attempted to go that extra mile; whether it be for selfless or selfish reasons.

Regardless of the result, we think this guy's show of affection is pretty darn adorable.

Jamarcus Guilory, 20 from Texas thought he'd treat his girlfriend, Jailyn Hernandez, 19, also from Texas, to a nice bunch of flowers after a long day.

Except er, he bought her "lettuce" instead.

It turns out the lettuce in question is actually purple kale that Jamarcus picked up from his job at a warehouse.

Speaking to Buzzfeed News, Hernandez said that she was mad at her boyfriend, which is why he got the "flowers", but she found they both found it hilarious when he realised he got her kale instead.

He was lost and he was laughing so much because he really thought it was a flower from a fruit.

He got it from his job at a warehouse.

He didn't know any better but to think it was a flower, but that's what made it really funny.

Speaking to Mashable, she said

I was sleeping and he woke me up by knocking on my window. I went to go open the door and he had the lettuce in his hand with a big smile

I just started laughing so much. After, I hugged and kissed him. He didn't [know] what it was until I told him it was lettuce. My mom was right by the door and she was laughing, too, but she also thought it was cute.

Twitter users have reacted saying it's adorable.

Well my boyfriend has gotten me flowers a couple of times before this time, because he always buys me other stuff that I want .

I didn't know it was lettuce straight away because I was half sleep when I opened the door for him he surprised me with the lettuce and I looked at it and then I told him it was lettuce.

She added that she didn't eat the kale, that her boyfriend is always doing things like this, and she's enjoying her viral fame:

 I didn't eat the kale but I kept it because it was a beautiful moment and it was sweet and memorable, and yes he always does funny things like this always.

The reaction has been amazing,  we didn't expected to go viral the way we did or even at all it really just happened on its own.

To be able to go on tv and talk about me let us know that we were really big and it was unbelievable , my friends and family are treating me like I'm a celebrity.
