Donald Trump's pick for secretary of agriculture was announced 18 January to be Sonny Perdue, the former governor of Georgia.
Mr Perdue was elected in 2003 as Georgia's first Republican governor since Reconstruction, and he campaigned heavily for Mr Trump in the presidential race, having backed Mike Huckabee in the Republican primaries.
He pitched himself as an asset due to the fact he ran a grain and fertiliser business, and cited his previous government experience.
Most people focus on the governor term of eight years, but for me, that was an interruption.

...wants people who are experts in the field.
Indeed, Mr Perdue is famous for his handling of a Georgia drought in 2007.
He led a crowd of several hundred people outside the state Capitol in a prayer for rain. He said in a speech following a hymn:
We’ve come together here simply for one reason and one reason only: To very reverently and respectfully pray up a storm.
It’s time to appeal to Him who can and will make a difference.
Droughts persisted into 2008, and were attributed to poor planning and man-made effects of climate change in a Columbia University study.
Mr Perdue now oversees the Agriculture department, in charge of farm policy and food safety with a $150 billion budget at his disposal.
