Man tries to burn EU flag. Flag doesn’t burn because of EU regulations on flammable materials

The European Union's regulations are a much vilified part of the Union, arguably one of the primary reasons the UK decided to leave.

Burgundy passports, straight bananas, eco-friendlylightbulbs, that kind of thing.

Back in June 2016, during the heyday of the EU debate prior to the referendum, much was made of an absolute joker who tried to burn a flag of the EU.

The beauty of the piece was that the flag would not light, due to EU regulations on flammable materials.

The gorgeous irony.
