Last week the world watched on as she coolly savaged Prince ‘Pizza Express’ Andrew.

Next up was James Cleverly, while she tore into the Conservative Party’s "dystopian" fake fact-checking service.

Now broadcaster Emily Maitlis has turned her attentions to the Tory’s central Brexit pledge, which took a couple of seconds to fall apart, and less than a minute to demolish entirely.

In case you’ve so far managed to miss this election’s “strong and stable”, Boris Johnson is promising to “Get Brexit Done”. It’s even the name of their manifesto.

Here’s the glorious demolition job in full:

If no one’s talking about the Conservative manifesto by Monday night, one senior Tory was overheard to say, then it’s job done.

Well sorry to disappoint, but we are. And we’re starting with their central premise, which makes very little sense. If there was one line they wanted you to take away from yesterday’s launch, it was the idea that the Tories would "Get Brexit Done".

But here’s the kicker:

There is no chance of Brexit being over by the 30th December, either this year or next.

Even if a majority Conservative government manages to take us out of the EU by the end of January, Brexit will still continue to dominate our national discourse, policy making and our relations with Europe.

This is complicated and critical, and shouldn’t be reduced to three words.

While people have been pointing this out for weeks (or, actually years, depending on how you look at it), it flies in the face of some of the BBC's other analysis of the two parties' manifesto.

But at this delicate time of heightened tensions, as the BBC come under fire for several editing gaffes appearing to paint Boris Johnson in a more positive light, Emily Maitlis has likely been keeping many's faith in the public broadcaster alive.

This latest effort seemed to suggest so, anyway.
