There are some situations that you pray you'll never end up in.

But in the face of shock and tragedy, you can only hope that you respond with as much poise and professionalism as this TV presenter.

Supreet Kaur is an anchor for the Indian TV channel IBC-24, which delivers news from the state of Chhattisgarh.

15 minutes into the Saturday morning bulletin, she began describing a car accident in Mahasamund, in which three people died.

A local reporter gave Kaur more detail, but no names.

Nevertheless, Kaur was aware that her husband was travelling the same route, in the same vehicle.

It dawned on her that she was reading the news of her husband's death, live on air.

Nevertheless, she reacted with remarkable stoicism and courage, keeping her composure until the end of the broadcast.

A genuine nightmare scenario.

But for many, this presenter's incredible strength is an inspiration.
