A model replica of Jeff Bezos’ rocket has drawn attention for its sexually suggestive look and price point.

Jeff Bezos’ New Shepard rocket first launched on 20 July and, at the time, people commented on how phallic it looked.

Now, a scaled-down model of the rocket is drawing many comparisons to a sex toy and is also on sale for the suggestive price of $69.99.

The model rocket is made by Estes – a company known for making high-quality replicas. The New Shepard by Blue Origin model is a 1/66th scale of the rocket launched by multi-billionaire Bezos and can actually launch up to 400 feet into the air.

Estes said on their website: “Estes is proud to partner with Blue Origin to provide a piece of history that inspires kids to dream and imagine.

“The ready to fly New Shepard model is a perfect addition to your office shelf or launch it to recreate the spaceflight for yourself!”

The model rocket will undoubtedly be a must-have item for fans of space travel, but for others, it drew attention for its shape, as many thought it looked like a sex toy.

On Twitter, one person wrote: “How long until someone paints it in flesh-tones?”

Another joked: “How many vibrating speeds does this have ?”

Someone else said: “It is going to be difficult explaining the stifled laughs of parents when these turn up at our local outreach launches.”

Another person crudely commented: “Can’t wait to see this in a x-ray.”
