A tweet apparently sent from the official McDonald's Twitter account has been hastily deleted after it criticised current US President Donald Trump and said he had "tiny hands".
The fast food chain which has franchises all over the world also pinned the tweet to the top of its user profile.
The now deleted tweet read:
@RealdonaldTrump You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands.
The tweet was shared to the account's 151 thousand followers and had been retweeted almost 1000 times before it was deleted.
indy100 is unable to 100 per cent confirm the validity of the tweet, however, it has been screen grabbed by multiple users and re-shared across Twitter.
This suggests that it was in fact genuine.
Ironically, Donald Trump actually starred in a McDonald's advert in the past, talking about their deals.
Terri Hickey, McDonald’s US spokesperson told indy100:
Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now further investigating this.
