People think Meghan Markle might start acting again – and there’s one role everyone wants her to play

The news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are to “step back” as “senior members of the royal family” is still making its way around the world.

In a dramatic twist which followed days of reports, Harry and Meghan said that they will work to become “financially independent” in future. The news follows widespread speculation the couple want to move to Canada, where Markle worked as an actress.

The palace has played down the announcement, saying that discussions are at an “early stage”, but it seems like the couple’s minds are made up.

While financial independence might be a struggle for the prince, Markle had a lucrative acting career before she took a step back to focus on royal duties and motherhood.

So now that the former Suits actress is looking for work again, there’s only one role that people want her to play: herself.

Yes, that’s right, people want Meghan Markle to play herself in Netflix’s The Crown.

The Netflix series, which lets us “behind the scenes” of the various royal scandals and dramas over the decades, currently stars Olivia Colman as the Queen. She even won a Golden Globe for her performance, following in her predecessor Claire Foy’s footsteps.

On Twitter, the calls for Markle to play herself in future seasons of the show were loud and clear.
