‘Piers is a tit’: Corbyn’s nephew has savage response to anti-vaxxer uncle after he’s duped by pranksters

It seems like it isn’t all happy families with the Corbyns, as Tommy Corbyn – son of former Labour leader Jeremy and nephew to anti-vaxxer Piers – has taken to Twitter to call his uncle a “tit”.

“That is all,” he added.

The comment, posted on Saturday, comes after Piers was tricked by YouTube pranksters Josh Pieters and Archie Manners into accepting £10,000 cash (which was later switched for Monopoly money) on the condition that he stopped criticising the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Corbyn, who was later asked by a reporter if he was “naïve” to accept the wonga, agreed and said “yes, it is”.

“In public, of course people often give cash, but not large amounts… This was a large amount, but they said they had lots of money and they wanted to help and wanted to be anonymous.

“So I took it perhaps naively thinking it would all be safe,” he admitted.

In the video posted to their shared YouTube channel, which boasts more than 1.4 million subscribers, Pieters and Manners said that in order to film and prank Corbyn legally, they had to invest in AstraZeneca, and so bought shares in the company for £100.

When the pair met Piers, Pieters pretended to agree with his conspiratorial views, showing him the £10,000 in cash and saying that it was a “statement of intent”.

“We’d love to keep funding you,” he said.

Corbyn replied: “That’s brilliant! As long as I can accept it with no insistence on any policy changes or anything that I’m doing.”

Manners added: “We’re not asking for a change in policy or anything but if there is anything that could be done to focus a bit on Pfizer or Moderna... that would be a useful thing.”

In a voiceover, Pieters claimed that Piers “started writing down benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine”.

Mr Corbyn could later be heard saying in the video: “If people ask where’s this come from I’ll say it’s... a businessman that runs restaurants.”

Following Tommy’s intervention, people have reminded the nephew that “every family has got one”:

Still, pretty awkward to get roasted on Twitter by your own nephew.
