Anti-Brexit campaigner Femi Oluwole mocked Donald Trump on Good Morning Britain today, calling him a “snowflake” for being so offended by some unflattering leaked messages that he disinvited the British ambassador from an official dinner.
Host Piers Morgan, who is friends with Trump, tried to defend the president, saying that "we all know" he is "very thin-skinned", but that "if he's attacked, he will attack back", to which Oluwole responded: "Attack back saying 'oh he's not coming to my party anymore'?"
Morgan did not seem to take kindly to the jibe, but Twitter was living for it.
Many pointed out that Morgan's response to call Femi "the biggest snowflake" was reminiscent of a school-playground-style "no you are!" retort.
Others were generally amused by Morgan grasping at straws in an attempt to defend Trump.
Trump announced on Twitter that he would no longer deal with Sir Kim Darroch, who has served as British ambassador to Washington since January 2016.
It came after diplomatic cables were leaked in which Sir Kim wrote: “We don’t really believe this administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept.”
A spokesperson for Downing Street said the leaks were "unfortunate" and "do not reflect the closeness of, and the esteem in which we hold, the relationship."
Meanwhile Trump tweeted in criticism of both Theresa May and Sir Kim, although he does seem to remain a fan of the Queen.
