Remember James Foley for his fearless war reporting

James Foley, 40, was an American freelance photo-journalist who worked across the Middle East.

In November 2012, while working in Idlib, northern Syria, he was kidnapped by gunmen.

Last night the Islamic State released an as-yet unverified video purportedly showing him being beheaded.

But that is not how we should remember him. In 2011, after being released from prison in Libya, he said he was "drawn to the front line".

This is just a small selection of his work while reporting from rebel positions in Aleppo, Syria, in August 2012.
