Remembering when two students snuck into the Oscars

Back in 1988 film students Jack Saltzberg and David Teitelbaum successfully managed to sneak onto the Oscar red carpet and interview some of Hollywood’s biggest stars - later telling the tale to late night host Johnny Carson.

The pair begin by approaching those waiting in limousines, offering their ‘great company’ in exchange for a lift into the show. When this approach failed, the men resorted to sweet talking armed officers, and dodging security staff until one simply let them pass.

The video is a must see for film fans, with a young Angelina Jolie making a cameo, along with Nicholas Cage and that year’s best actress winner Cher.
