On Thursday evening, reality TV show host turned president, Donald Trump invited former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin around for dinner.

During his campaign Palin had been a very vocal supporter of Mr Trump, and after a few months settling into the White House Mar-a-Lago, it was finally time to invite the popular ring-wing pundit to dinner.

Mrs Palin also brought with her the musician Ted Nugent, who had previously called President Barack Obama a "sub-human mongrel" and told him to “suck on my machine gun,” and musician Kid Rock, who also supported Trump's campign.

The group were treated to a picture with the President in the Oval Office and a brief tour of the building.

During said tour, they walked past a portrait of former Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton, and posed for a picture.

People weren't too impressed at this.

And a theme about intelligence began to emerge.

New York Magazine's Yashar Ali made an important point.

Jesse Mclaren Photoshopped Steve-O into every picture... It's almost like a Where's Wally book.

Just click your heels together and wish it all never happened.

However, in the interest of balance, it's not solely Republicans who seem to disrespect people's portraits in the White House.

One Twitter user shared a picture of two people swearing in front of President Ronald Reagan's portrait, allegedly taken during President Barack Obama's time in office.

There was also a fair few tweets about 'Snowflakes' and 'Liberal tears'... But you already guessed that, right?
