The vast majority of EU voters want Britain to stay in the EU, a poll of 28,720 people in 28 EU countries has found.

Sixty per cent of those surveyed wanted the UK to stay in the EU, compared to just ten per cent that wanted the country to leave.

The poll, by Lord Ashcroft for the Sun newspaper, found that the net remain, that is the per cent of those who want the UK to leave subtracted from those who want the UK to remain, is actually lowest in the UK, by a margin:

Unsurprisingly, the UK tops the list of countries with the highest proportion of voters who want the UK to leave the European Union, with 40 per cent, the next closest being Luxembourg.

Fifty per cent of UK voters wanted to remain in the EU, while 10 per cent said it did not matter to them.
