President Donald Trump is known for his catchphrases and nicknames.
During the 2016 election, he repeatedly referred to Hillary Clinton as “crooked Hillary”. After a falling out with his former employee Steve Bannon, he called him “sloppy Steve”. Now there’s a word president Donald Trump keeps using to describe his former longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen, who was sentenced to three years in jail last week.
In the world of Trump, his ex-lawyer a “rat”.
Cohen’s sentencing came after he plead guilty to numerous charges relating to campaign finance violations. Two payments were made to adult film actresses under Cohen’s supervision, breaking electoral law. Cohen is now cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election.
Though Fox News contributor Andrew McCarthy has pointed out that Trump might want to pick a different word.
He’s not the only person to point this out, with numerous high profile Twitter accounts making the same point.
