The 2018 World Cup is throwing a lot of curve balls, some literal and some figurative, from the England team historically winning a penalty shootout to Portugal being beaten by Uruguay.
Some people are jumping the gun and already declaring England to be the winners, with one man being so convinced 'it's coming home' he got a England 2018 World Cup winners tattoo.
Enter Dan Welch, an England fan who promised to tattoo the entire squad on his leg if England made it to the quarter finals.
He sent this tweet back in May:
The 29-year-old put his 'neck on the line' or rather his leg under the needle, when his promise came to fruition with England's win over Colombia.
To say the game was 'nerve-wracking' might be the understatement of the century, but suffice it to say that in the entirety of the World Cup, penalties don't play well with the England team.
Thanks to the efforts of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and the other penalty takers (not you, Henderson) England went through to the quarter-finals.
It also meant that Dan Welch was forced to step up and get inked, and the accountant from Hertfordshire did good on his promise.
Sharing the picture on Twitter, you can see the surnames of every player in this 23-man dream team with the added cherry-on-top being Mr Gareth Southgate himself.
Naturally, people loved that he was true to his word, with one commenter saying:
You deserve a ticket to the Quarter Finals mate!
