Eighty per cent of Tinder users say that they are seeking a long term relationship on the app.
CEO Sean Rad revealed the statistic on Twitter, following a survey of over 300,000 users of the hook-up app.
The news comes in advance of changes to the app’s algorithm, which is said to increase the number of matches by more than 30 per cent.
Co-founder Rad said there will be:
a series of things you're going to see that will help you make more sense of the sheer volume of people around you and build deeper connections... and more ways to connect.
The changes come as part of other moves by the app away from the casual dating market, to a service for more long-term relationships.
In September, the app released the 'super like', which allowed users to tell others that they "super liked" them before the other had made a decision whether or not to match with them.
