Apple makes more money each year than all of these countries

Apple is one of the biggest companies in the world: and with this week's release of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus it's only going to get bigger. With a forecasted 100m iPhones to be sold in the second half of 2014 alone and profits continuing to rise, the technology company's revenue is expected to eclipse $180bn next year.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the measure of all goods and services produced by all sectors of a country's economy in a single year.

The data in this map is taken from the nominal GDP of each country - that means it is calculated according to currency exchange rates to the US dollar and can therefore fluctuate from year to year. This map uses data from 2012.
