You could be a Chief TikTok Officer for $10,000 a month

You could be a Chief TikTok Officer for $10,000 a month

Toy company Nerf is advertising for a $10,000 a month ‘chief TikTok officer’ and everyone wants the job.

The manufacturer shared a plea, asking for a “talented creator” to come on board and help them create some memorable content on the video-sharing app. Judging by the video posted, the company need a lot of help making some memorable content – as it admits itself.

On the video, the automated voice says: “Hello. It’s Nerf. We are hiring a Chief TikTok Officer. You will make $10,000 a month for up to three months to run our TikTok. We made a lot of videos to launch this program. This was the best one.”

It adds: “Help. Help us please. Help.”

You don’t need to have gone to film school to see that the company needs a helping hand. The 16-second video isn’t the most engaging with the squiffy camerawork capturing just a pair of legs, with the person doing what looks like their best Charli D’Amelio impression.

Nerf is best known for selling toy guns with foam bullets, and the person in the video is seen struggling to do anything creative with the signature product.

But it was the jaw dropping fee was what got people talking – people were, understandably, incredibly keen on the rather large monthly fee.

TikTok is a fast-growing app that lots of businesses are using to market their products. The platform has nearly 700 million active users.

Teresa Pearson, senior director of global brand strategy and marketing at Nerf, said: “While the Nerf global marketing team really is best-in-class at what they do in terms of creativity and connecting with our fans, we admit that we could use some as the brand steps into the world of TikTok.

“We’re ready to hand over the reins to one talented creator to run the Nerf TikTok account.”
