Is there anything more annoying than getting a parking ticket?

Returning from a nice day out, a trip to the shops or coming home from work to see your car has been covered in a big yellow sticker with a big fine attached to it is not fun.

Well, thanks to our friends at Google, you may never get a parking ticket again.

A new update to Google Maps will allow people to mark their car by a blue marker using location services. They can then set a timer, meaning their phone will go off when time is running out on the parking meter.

Unfortunately for iPhone users, the app is currently only being made for Androids (and should be ready by the end of the year).

If you just can't wait that long, you can sign up to be a Beta tester by clicking on the Google Maps app on the Google Play store.

Goodbye forever, pesky parking fines!
