Brad Pitt admits that he isn't on Tinder after subscriptions went up when he made a joke about the app

There has been a lot of talk about Brad Pitt as of late.

The Hollywood icon has been picking up awards all over the place and he even had a brief reunion with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston at the SAG awards which the internet became obsessed with.

He picked up the award for the best male actor in a supporting role for his performance in Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood.

During his speech for the award, Pitt joked about his love life, saying:

I have to add this [award] to my Tinder profile.

The 56-year-old star was clearly joking about having a Tinder profile because, well, he's Brad Pitt. We can't imagine he's going to struggle to get a date.

But it appears that people thought that he was actually serious, as downloads of the dating app reportedly "went up like crazy" after he gave that speech.

Pitt was informed about this surge in Tinder interest on the red carpet at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Thursday, where he won the Maltin Modern Master Award.

Speaking to extratv, Pitt laughed off the Tinder news and admitted that he didn't even know how it worked.

No, I'm not on it. I'm not even sure how it works. I just thought it was funny to say.

That sound you just heard was millions of people crying out in anguish and deleting their Tinder profiles.
