One of the brightest spots of 2020 was Dakota Johnson and her Architectural Digest house tour.

In the extremely endearing video, the actor gave a tour of her tastefully decorated home with her dog making a cameo appearance and iconic lines like, “the difference between a flower and a weed is judgement”.

Also in her tour, she shows off the main feature of her carpeted kitchen: a bowl filled to the brim with a fruit she loves, limes.

The moment instantly became a viral meme for how odd but charming it was, with people quoting it all throughout last year.

So it came as a shock when Johnson revealed to Jimmy Fallon that she not only doesn’t like limes, but is actually allergic to them.

“It was set dressing,” she told Fallon. “I’m actually allergic to limes. Limes make my tongue itch.”

“It was hard to just ignore them, so I just lied,” she added.

After a year of sharing lime memes, Johnson’s fans were distressed to hear the news, with some referencing her now legendary interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

Beyond being one of the most bizarre celebrity lies since the Robert Pattinson clown car incident, this is also just proof that you definitely shouldn’t trust everything you see on house tours.
