The Simpsons 'predicted' the latest shocking Game of Thrones twist... two years ago

Considering The Simpsons has been on air since 1989 we really shouldn't surprise when they manage to predict things in real life.

Such things as the decline of Toys 'R' Us and the election of Donald Trump were all depicted on the show before they actually happened, yet predicting fiction isn't usually in their wheelhouse.

However, an October 2017 episode of the popular animated show titled 'The Serfsons,' which served as a parody of Game of Thrones, illustrated a shocking moment that actually happened on the HBO show's most recent episode.

Towards the end of The Simpsons episode, the family gaze out at a mediaeval version of Springfield that is being burnt to the ground by an angry dragon, which is exactly what happened on Game of Thrones this week when Daenerys and her dragon Drogon did a massive heel turn on Westeros and turned it into fiery ash.

Eagle-eyed viewers, who are probably the only people still watching The Simpsons in 2019, were quick to point this out on Twitter.

There is also this brilliant reimagined version of the Game of Thrones opening credits set to The Simpsons music, which works shockingly well.

Regardless of the Simpsons getting everything right again, the Game of Thrones twist upset a lot of people.
