Every year on 4 May, Star Wars fans celebrate their love of the epic sci-fi franchise because 'May the fourth be with you,' get it?
It's a chance for every Star Wars fan, be it Jedi, Sith, Empire, Rebel Alliance or err...Tuskan Raider to dress up as their favourite character, quote scenes until their heart's content or watch The Phantom Menace again. That's the best one, right?
Despite its popularity, Star Wars shouldn't be appropriated by everyone especially the daughter of possibly the most hated man on the planet.
Way back on 29 September 2019, Ivanka shared a picture on social media of herself and her husband Jared Kushner, with their children, one of whom is wearing a Stormtrooper outfit, while the others are building what appears to be a Lego Death Star.
She captioned the snap:
The Force is strong in my family
The Force is strong in my family. ⭐️ https://t.co/oT0jFfy5Lb— Ivanka Trump (@Ivanka Trump) 1569722429
The couple's children were undoubtedly very cute, but people on Twitter couldn't help but feel like Ivanka had slightly missed the point.
Particularly seeing as Stormtroopers are on the dark side and that president Trump is frequently compared to a Darth Vadar-style authoritarian leader.
As sure as day turns to night and as predictable as Emperor Palpatine coming back from the dead (because, why not?) Twitter had thoughts.

Even Mark Hamill, who famously played Luke Skywalker, chimed in.

It's safe to say, that on this occasion, the force wasn't with you, Ivanka.
