Tariji P Henson might have thrown some serious shade at Ryan Seacrest at the Oscars

Move over Mariah Carey, there's a new queen of shade in town and her name is Tariji P Henson.

During the Oscars red carpet, the Atlanta actress stopped to talk to radio and television personality Ryan Seacrest, who was covering the film award for E!.

Seacrest was accused of multiple instances of sexual harassment and abuse by his former personal stylist Suzie Hardy.

E! hired an independent investigator earlier this year to look into the allegations, but found "insufficient evidence" to support Hardy's accusations, reports The Independent.

On the red carpet, Seacrest asked Henson to talk about Mary J Blige’s two Oscar nominations, which she briefly commented on, but it was her following statement, seemingly completely unrelated to Blige, that made people sit up and listen.

With a prolonged look and a tight smile, she told Seacrest:

You know, the universe has a way of taking care of the good people.

Briefly tapping him on the chin, she continued:

You know what I mean?

And people were here for it.

Channelling some of that Cookie fire...

People couldn't stop praising the way she handled the interview.

Like, people thought it was definitely shade. All the colours of shade.

In fact, there should be a shade Oscar just so it can be awarded to Henson.

People have pointed out that she could have just as easily been showing Seacrest, who denies all allegations against him, support.
