SNL skewers all of Marjorie Taylor Greene’s bizarre ‘scientific’ beliefs in NSFW sketch

Saturday Night Live has again mocked controversial Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene after she pulled a transphobic stunt on her Democrat colleague earlier this week.

Greene, who has a history of spreading conspiracy theories and ultra-conservative views, placed a sign outside Marie Newman’s office on Thursday which read, “There are TWO genders: Male & Female, ‘Trust the Science’.

The Georgia Representative’s reprehensible stunt was condemned by many but there aren’t many places better for skewering bizarre and bigoted rhetoric in the United States than SNL.

Cecily Strong, who has previously played Greene on the show, reappeared as the character on the latest edition of the Weekend Update where co-host Colin Jost asked why she hung the transphobic sign outside of her office.

In response, she said “we have to trust the science” and that she is “always talking about science.” However, she caveated that by reeling off some of the conspiracy theories and facts that Greene has publicly denounced or denied the existence of.

Strong said, “Unless that science is about climate change, coronavirus, space lasers, evolution, the metric system, the rhythm method, breastfeeding, living on Mars, Jesus’ skin colour or Santa’s skin colour, by the way, which is white.”

She then went on to give some rather crude explanations as to what constitutes traditional gender roles’ and as a “woman it’s my job to bully, threaten and fight my female colleagues” because “scientists call these ‘cat fights.” The Greene character also shared some NFSW thoughts on the recent announcement that the Potato Head toys will be introducing a gender-neutral toy.

We’ll let you discover that in the video of the entire segment below.
