Despite being disgraced from the sport after admitting to taking performance-enhancing drugs, Lance Armstrong still enjoys riding his bike, especially when he overtakes the current vice president.

In a bizarre and completely unexpected tweet, Armstrong claimed to have just 'blew the f**kin' doors off Mike Pence' when he cycled past Trump's right-hand man on the Nantucket bike path in the US state of Massachusetts.

The 47-year-old Texan, who was stripped of all his achievements in 2012, including his seven Tour de France wins, could have very well passed Pence on the path as the veep was in Nantucket on Saturday.

The 60-year-old was in town for a joint fundraiser for the Republican National Committee and Donald Trump's 2020 presidential campaign, as reported by the Washington Examiner.

Armstrong, who is a Democrat and has previously given his backing to Beto O'Rourke quickly became a viral hit because of this tweet and given his controversial history didn't quite know how to react but the majority of the reactions proved to be from irate Trump supporters.

Even Donald Trump Jr got angry about it.

There were seldom jokes mocking Pence but this from Jordan Uhl is probably our favourite.

In response, Armstrong told everyone to calm down but did re-emphasise that he did blow Pence's doors off.
