This bride had a crazy idea for her wedding and no one can quite believe it

Most of us will pick our bridesmaids depending on who we’re closest to - and partly who will organise the best hen do, of course.

But one woman has a rather dramatically different method to selecting her nearest and dearest.

reddit user sistersbridesmaids (who claims to be the bride's sister), took to the website to explain how her sibling's potential bridesmaids will apparently be selected by the size of their bank accounts.

She wrote:

My ‘self-absorbed’ sister is holding an ‘auction’ for all her potential bridesmaids to compete for a place in her wedding.

She says her sister...

... mainly only associates with rich people, or more accurately people with rich families since none of these young 20s girls have ever held a job in their life unless it's at their parents' investment firm.

The money raised will apparently go towards funding the wedding.

She explains how her sister "has no awareness about how inappropriate it is in many ways".

She writes:

I told my sister they weren't lacking for funds because it's obvious and she just said 'well if they'll already be bidding we figure we should put their money towards a great event for everyone' as though this is an act of service she's doing for them. It's totally nonsensical.

She wrote - and later deleted – that she is being made to get involved.

My mom says I will 'look bad if I don't put in a bid when it's my own sister' and called me selfish.
