'This is the future liberals want' has evolved from a meme to a rallying call

A few weeks ago, the following tweet went viral for what most people concluded to be a criticism of diversity:

Actually, the peaceful co-existence of people from different ethnic, political, religious and sexual backgrounds is precisely what liberals want…

The sentence 'This is What Liberals Want' seems to have taken on a life of its own, and has come to represent core liberal values.

On Monday, FBI Director James Comey confirmed that federal investigations into Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 elections were taking place. Additionally, the organisation is also investigating possible links between Moscow and members of Donald Trump’s team.

This has been galvanising people online.

Black Lives Matter activist and New York Daily News columnist Shaun King came up with a ten-point plan to defeat Donald Trump.

Number three on that plan was the importance of uniting competing liberal movements.
