Mansplaining - the phenomenon where men explain stuff to women that they already know - has just reached new lows.

A man helpfully informed Indiana Jones costume designer Deborah Landis that she hadn't actually been influenced by Secret of the Incas as she had thought.

Despite her maintaining otherwise, he battled on with his insistence that The Greatest Show On Earth inspired the costumes in Indiana Jones.

It is surely one of the most severe cases of mansplaining ever recorded.

Landis' son shared a screenshot the remarkable Facebook exchange on Twitter.

'Stanley, you have got to be kidding' deserves to be a catch-all phrase to fight off mansplainers everywhere.
