Man's obituary asks: Please don't vote for Hillary Clinton

If the final wishes of North Carolinian men act as bellwethers in US politics then things are certainly looking ominous for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Following the death of Larry Darrell Upright at 81 last week, his family wrote a short obituary for him in the local Salisbury Post.

The eulogy details the family he leaves behind, his membership of the local Masonic lodge and his love of golf. It then gives details of when his funeral will be and where people can send flowers.

Nothing out of the ordinary there, you may think, until the final line: "Also, the family respectfully asks that you do not vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016. R.I.P. Grandaddy."

Responses on Legacy.com, where the obituary is also posted, include those like "my condolences to the family of Larry Upright. I will certainly not be voting for Hillary Clinton and pledge to do all I can to dissuade others from voting for her" and "I will not vote for Hillary sir and I'll do everything I can to convince others not to either! God speed".
