Pub plays Peppa Pig theme as police walk in, gets official warning

A pub in Wales has been given an official ticking off after playing the Peppa Pig theme tune when two policemen walked it.

Cooney's Bar in Llandudno has had its licence reviewed by Conwy county council following the incident in October, during which the DJ also made snorting noises.

The complaint to the licensing committee alleged that several similar incidents had occurred at the pub since April 2014.

The pub's owners Joanne and Michael Cooney have now been served with a formal warning and any transgressions in the next six months will see the couple hauled back before the committee.

When asked about the DJ who played the song, Joanne Cooney told the council:

The DJ is still with us at the moment. He has three children and a wife.

I said: ‘This is your last chance, you are not allowed to have a drink. If you have a drink then we will have to let you go.’ He’s been on his best behaviour since.
