This woman's ghosting story is everyone's worst nightmare

If you're in a relationship that has lasted longer than five years, it's probably inconceivable to you that it might end without warning.

But one Redditor claims to have taken this a step further in a story she posted to the website, by ghosting her boyfriend of five years after she found him asleep in bed with his ex.

Disclaimer, we have no idea whether this actually happened. But the story has been going viral on Twitter and is popular on Reddit because of the incredible, clear-headed decision-making by the betrayed woman in this earth-shattering situation.

The story first emerged on the confessions subreddit.

It was since shared to Twitter, where it received over 90,000 retweets and 300,000 likes.

People loved the decision, seeing it as a healthy and self-preserving choice.

She said in a comment on the Reddit thread:

I found someone else to take over my lease and moved back in with family.

I already had an interview with another company and was offered a position, which was part of the reason I wanted to surprise my then-boyfriend at the time.

And I didn’t want to discuss anything at all with him because I couldn’t come up with any conceivable reason I wanted to continue working on things 

She also clarified on Reddit that the game was Super Mario Odyssey. She described it as follows:

It was easily one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
