If you’re a woman, an immigrant, a person of colour or LGBTQ, do not let the Trump win defeat you. This is the advice from actress Jennifer Lawrence, who has said these groups of people need to now work twice as hard as men because the election result has proven that things aren’t fair.

She wrote:

This country was founded on immigration and today the only people that feel safe, that their rights are recognized and respected are white men.

The actress argued that women who are worried that there will always be a glass ceiling (which Hillary Clinton was very vocal about wanting to break by winning the presidency) in an article she wrote for Broadly.

She said the election result should 'enrage' and 'motivate' people:

Let this be the fire you didn't have before. If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman - don't be afraid, be loud!

She said we shouldn’t give up on issues such as climate change; concerns already stoked by the Trump presidency.

If you're worried about the health of our planet, find out everything you can about how to protect it. If you're worried about racial violence love your neighbor more than you've ever tried to before—no matter what they believe or who they voted for. If you're afraid of a wall putting us all into another recession then organize and stand against it.

This isn't the first time Lawrence has expressed her feelings about Trump. She said on the Graham Norton Show that she wanted to find Trump because she had a message for him:
