Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been destroyed several times over the past few years by vandals with pickaxes.

Trump was awarded the star thanks to his work on The Apprentice, but earlier this week the West Hollywood City Council voted unanimously to have the star removed due to allegations about the president's mistreatment of women.

It is yet to be confirmed whether that will actually happen as The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Los Angeles City Council are yet to comment on the issue.

In a further chapter to the saga surrounding the star, a self-proclaimed conservative street artist is attempting to counteract the vandalism and the movement to remove the star by replicating it all over the sidewalk of N Highland Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard.

The artist who wishes to remain anonymous has told The Hollywood Reporterthat his mission will continue to preserve the star:

Rip up the president's Walk of Fame star or try to have it removed — like you're the mayor of West Hollywood or something — and 30 more will pop up.

The Hollywood Reporter adds that the artist appears to be working in cohesion with a group called 'The Faction' who are allies of fellow conservative artist Sabo.

They have reportedly spent $1,000 on the stars which have been printed on a vinyl sticker which has reportedly been financed by a "young and anonymous entrepreneur".

Around 50 stars were said to have been stuck to black slabs on the walk of fame earlier this week, but the name on the star wasn't initially revealed by the artists out of fear for their own safety.

The artist adds:

I didn't want to get hit over the head from behind. We thought Trump Derangement Syndrome was a joke, but I'm pretty sure it's real.

If no one peels these off, they could last there for 10 years.

However, the names were eventually revealed by staff members at a nearby branch of Ripley's Believe It or Not, who didn't want a repeat incident of what happened to the original star.

We didn't want to have what happened to the old star here. Not only would the star be destroyed, but it would damage our property.

A member to the city's cleaning service added:

We started at 5 o’clock in the morning and we’ve found about 50 stars.
