He may be about to turn 90, but Britain's favourite naturalist is showing no signs of losing his zest for life.
Speaking ahead of a new programme about dinosaurs which will be screened on Sunday, David Attenborough spoke to the Independent about his career, his passion for Planet Earth... and his two new knees.
Asked by our sister paper's media editor Ian Burrell if he had any secrets to his longevity, the broadcaster said he didn't but had "felt a duty to make the most of it".
If you are feeling reasonably chipper it seems almost blasphemous not to take advantage of it. To feel great and then to say ‘Well, I’m just going to sit in the corner and do nothing’ doesn’t seem to be sensible.
