Over the weekend a BBC News presenter had an absolute nightmare, live on television.
😂 wonderful car crash opening to BBC World News just now. Pick a camera, any camera 😛 https://t.co/5XxrdwQXcr— Andrew Roberts 💬 (@Andrew Roberts 💬) 1504919157
The confusing incident preceded an important report on the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma making the situation even more awkward.
Luckily for presenter, Tom Donkin the incident happened at 2 am in the morning, so there wouldn't have been too many people watching it in the UK.
Except, this was on BBC World so most of America could have been watching at 9 pm, their time.
Oh the embarrassment.
@HenryB1992 Overnight on the news channel is a BBC World production, that is why you see studio C and not studio E… https://t.co/sP5p68Wgjn— Andrew Roberts 💬 (@Andrew Roberts 💬) 1504949526
Unfortunately for him Twitter user Andrew Roberts was awake and captured the moment in all it's glory.
His tweet soon went viral but Andrew was good enough to point out the problem wasn't Tom's fault.
@TomDonkinBBC correct position far too late when he was already live and on screen. Sorry @TomDonkinBBC , I didn't… https://t.co/KsNUlda2f0— Andrew Roberts 💬 (@Andrew Roberts 💬) 1505063456
Still, this hasn't stopped people making fun of poor ol' Tom.

Others have been complimenting him though, so it's not the end of the world.
Magnificent. Like the opening of an old silent movie. https://t.co/IznGrlemvM— Jonathan O'Brien (@Jonathan O'Brien) 1505043743
Earlier this year the BBC broadcast two minutes of silence while Huw Edwards waited patiently.
