Boris Johnson apparently has a mug with his own face on it and people have questions

A picture of Boris Johnson drinking out of a mug with his face on it is doing the rounds and obviously people are less than impressed.

The image is not a "leaked" or "candid" shot, but rather a staged photo-op during the Tory Party Conference, so it's fair to assume the cup doesn't necessarily belong to him.

Nonetheless, its existence is still baffling. Is the prime minister shilling his own merch now?

Over on Twitter, people have theories.

Although others seemed to think the mug was the least strange thing about the whole set-up.
